DEN Sustainable Soils
This mix holds a carefully curated collection of natural ingredients designed to keep plants with a wide range of needs thriving. Whether you're planting a tropical Fiddle Leaf Fig propagation or replanting a temperate Pony Tail Palm, this mix has you covered.
Directions for use: Match your plant (or seeds!) with a pot. If the pot doesn't have a drainage hole add rocks to the bottom to encourage drainage. Next, free the roots of your plant from some of its original soil by lightly massaging the root ball. Add a base layer of your DEN Soil to the pot and gently fill in the sides. Fit the root ball into the center space as you fill. Once your plant is in, top off on the sides and water.
It's a good idea to repot your plant every year, but plant needs differ based on species, age and context. Keep an eye on soil compaction and plant growth and repot accordingly.
DEN Sustainable Soils mission is to bring awareness to the role that soil can play in reducing our planet’s carbon footprint. The soil on our planet contains around 2,500 gigatons of carbon. That’s 4x more carbon than the total amount stored in every living thing on earth: every single tree, every plant, etc. This number, however, has been steadily decreasing over time because of the way we treat our soil. We’ve actually lost 70% of the carbon stored in our soils through poor management practices like tilling, the use of unsustainable fertilizers and pesticides, and monocropping.
