The sleek modern design and simple clean lines of the Monterey platform bed features a craftsman-built frame in solid bamboo, with softly rounded edges, and turned and tapered legs. Built for comfort and designed for everyday living, the headboard provides a restful surface, angled for good looks, and comfortable for lounging or reading in bed.
Sustainable and environmentally safe, the Amber color is not a stain finish, simply an innovation created using earth friendly heat, steam, and pressure to transform the bamboo into Amber’s deep color. The finished product displays a beautiful grain pattern with continuous color throughout the entire material. Variation in grain and color enrich the natural beauty of bamboo furniture and make each piece unique. Slight differences in bamboo shade colors are signs that the furniture has been crafted from solid bamboo and is considered a benchmark of quality.
The Monterey platform bed is designed for use with a mattress only, which is supported with a solid bamboo European slat system, eliminating the need for a box spring, and providing constant ventilation for your mattress. Available in Queen and Eastern King sizes. Discover the expert craftsmanship packed into each piece of Greenington bamboo furniture. Made using an earth friendly, renewable resource harvested from fully sustainable and rapidly growing forests.

I was excited to get this bed, replacing an IKEA frame that frankly had outlived its prime. The price was a bit steep, but I loved the bamboo and the amber finish as it fit perfectly into my decorating scheme and just looked very high quality.
I began to be disappointed right from delivery: there is so. much. packaging. It was a lot to deal with, especially after what happened next.
I began assembling the bed from the two boxes it comes in. It wasn't terribly frustrating, fairly simple and straight forward. Up until it was time to install the headboard. Mine apparently had a machining defect that prevented one of the bolts that hold the headboard from threading properly. The bolt fits fine in a test fit, the other 2 bolts went in correctly with little effort, but the last bolt on the end would simply not catch when trying to secure it to the bed frame. The headboard now moves on that side, doesn't sit flush with the mounting, and will make noise and rub with any movement.
For the price, this is incredibly bad form. $2000 delivered to find a defect that can't be discovered until you're almost done assembling it. With the incredible amount of packing material it came with, it's not practical to disassemble and figure out how to send it back. So, I'm just stuck with it and its little reminder that price does not have to mean quality and there are zero consequences for them to sell a few bad units. I'm a rounding error.
Would not recommend Greenington, it's IKEA quality at Herman-Miller prices.
